About Karoo Wingshooting

Karoo Wingshooting is owned and operated by Tim van Heerden.

“I was introduced to bird shooting by one of my close friends, Beyers Cronje.  Beyers and I met while doing our Professional Hunter programs together way back in 1998.  At the time Beyers ran two English pointers - Rap and Patrys. He invited me on a most informal Greywing shoot in the Sneeuberg Mountains that same winter.  Since that day I was hooked.  From Greywing I went on to Guineafowl, Waterfowl and Pigeon shooting.  And the rest, as they say in the classics, is history.”

Tim is well known in international hunting circles. He is the chairperson of SECSICOM and has established close links with Government conservation departments on provincial and regional levels.  He is also the driving force behind the Eastern Cape Wingshooters Forum.  He is renowned for his diplomacy, perseverance and attention to detail.
